Questions we get asked.

Straight answers. If we haven't covered yours, email us — usually back the same day.

Can I migrate from ClubV1 / BRS Golf / IntelligentGolf?

Yes — most clubs we work with come from one of those. Export your member list as CSV (every system supports it) and we'll handle the field mapping. Tee bookings and competition history live as historical data on the old system; new bookings and comps start clean on Fairway. Concierge setup includes the migration as part of the £249.

What if we want to cancel?

Cancel from your billing portal whenever you want. No notice period, no exit fee, no haggling. You keep access until the end of the month you've paid for, then your data export is one click. Members lose access to the app at that point — give them a month's heads-up.

Is there a free trial?

Growth and Club Pro come with a 14-day free trial — full access, no card charged until day 15. Essentials is charged from day one but has a 14-day money-back guarantee. The free trial gives you time to import members, configure your tee sheet, and try it on a real Saturday before committing.

How do you handle GDPR for our member data?

Your data lives in the UK (Railway's London region). Members own their data — they can request export or deletion from the app directly. We never sell, share, or analyse member data across clubs. We're a data processor; you're the controller. Full DPA on request.

Do we need to involve our IT team?

No. Fairway is a cloud SaaS — no installation, no on-premises servers, no domain setup unless you want a custom URL for the member app. Your club secretary or operations manager can run it from their laptop. Custom domains for your website (if you take that package) are configured by us in Cloudflare.

Can we trial it with a subset of members first?

Yes — most clubs do. Import 20-30 members, give them the access code, and they can use the full app while the rest of your roster stays on your existing system. When you're confident, do a bulk import and migrate the rest. We never charge per-member during the trial, only after launch.

What happens if Grantive goes out of business?

Honest answer: your data lives in UK Postgres on Railway. We commit to a 90-day data-export window if we ever wind down, and the underlying Stripe subscriptions can be cancelled by you directly. Source-available escrow for the platform is on our roadmap for clubs that want it written into the contract.

Grantive — a UK design & engineering studio that's been building bespoke technology for golf, members' and sports clubs for years. Fairway is our SaaS product line for clubs that don't need (or want to pay for) a bespoke build. Same team, same standards.

Book a tee time

From open the app to confirmed booking. The most common thing your members will do.

Open the Fairway app and tap Tee times on the bottom nav.
Pick a date — the date strip at the top shows the next 14 days. Swipe to scroll further out.
Each available slot shows the time and how many spots are open. Tap one.
Confirm your group — your name is filled in automatically; add up to three other members or guests.
Tap Confirm booking. A confirmation email lands in your inbox; the slot now shows on your Home screen under "Up next".

Enter a competition

Tap Competitions on the bottom nav.
Open competitions appear at the top. Tap the one you want to enter.
Tap Enter. If a fee applies, you'll be prompted to confirm — it adds to your club tab.
Once entered, the comp moves to My entries. Live leaderboards update as scores come in.

Set up biometric login

Face ID / Touch ID so you don't have to type your password every time.

Scroll to Sign-in & security, toggle Use Face ID on.
Authenticate once. Next time you open the app, Face ID handles login. (Android shows Fingerprint instead.)

Track a round on the scorecard

Enter scores hole by hole, submit at the end. Posts to your handicap automatically.

Before you tee off, tap Scorecard → Start round. Pick the course and tee.
Enter your score after each hole. Pair with a fellow member by tapping their initials — both scorecards update together.
Stableford points / nett calculate live. You'll see them under the gross.
After 18, tap Sign & submit. The round posts to your handicap record and (if you're entered) the competition leaderboard.

Find a game

You want a 4-ball Sunday morning. Other members are looking too. Match up automatically.

Tap Find a Game on the bottom nav.
Post your availability: date range, preferred time of day, handicap range you're happy to play with.
The board shows other members who've posted — tap one to join their request, or wait for someone to join yours.
When the group fills, the booking auto-locks the tee slot and emails everyone.

Order food & drink to the patio

Club Pro tier only. Order from your phone, club staff bring it to where you're sitting.

Tap Food & drink on the bottom nav. Browse the live menu.
Add items to your basket. The total adds to your member tab (no card needed).
Pick where: Patio, Specific hole, Locker room, or Pick up at the bar.
Submit. You'll get a push when it's on its way.

Import your members from a spreadsheet

The single fastest way to get live. Bulk import accepts CSV or Excel.

Sign in to admin.fairwaybygrantive.com → Members.
Click + Bulk import in the top toolbar.
Drop your CSV or Excel file. The wizard previews the first 5 rows and asks you to confirm the column mapping (it usually guesses right).
Hit Import N members. The system creates accounts, mints welcome tokens, and (if you opt in) sends each member a setup email with a one-tap password link.
Members appear immediately in the directory. Existing rows are upserted by email — re-running the import is safe.

Generate a tee sheet for the season

From "we have a course and an idea of hours" to "a full 90-day tee sheet" in under a minute.

Open the Tee Sheet page → Generate.
The modal pre-fills from your saved schedule template (Club Settings → Schedule). Adjust opening time, closing time, interval, max bookings per slot.
Pick the date range — usually Today through +90 days.
Click Generate N slots. They appear on the tee sheet instantly, ready for member bookings. Existing bookings are preserved.

Set up your first competition

Create the comp, set the rules, open entries. Members see it in the app within seconds.

Open Competitions → + New competition.
Fill in name, date, format (Stableford / Stroke play / Match play / Eclectic), and whether it's gross or nett.
Set the entry deadline and any fee.
Save. The comp now shows on the Competitions screen on every member's app.
As scores come in, the leaderboard updates live. You can edit, reorder, or recalculate from the admin detail page.
When entries close, click Mark closed. Final results email automatically to all entrants.

Customise your welcome & booking emails

Make the automated emails sound like your club — not like Fairway.

Club Settings → Email Templates.
Pick the template you want to edit — Welcome, Booking Confirmation, Cancellation, etc.
Markdown editor on the left, live preview on the right. Tokens like {member_first_name} are documented at the top of each template.
Send a test to yourself with the Preview in inbox button.
Hit save. The next email of this type goes out with your wording.

Block out the tee sheet for an event

Closing 13:00-15:00 for the Captain's Match? One click, no fiddly per-slot edits.

Tee Sheet → ... (top-right) → Block dates.
Pick the date range and time range. Add a reason (shows to members as the block reason).
Hit Block. All matching slots become un-bookable and members see your reason on the tee sheet preview. Existing bookings in that range are listed for you to handle.

Switch to / from annual billing

Annual subscriptions save your club ~17% (two months free). Toggle any time.

Billing → Manage subscription. Stripe Customer Portal opens.
Find your active plan → Update plan. Pick the Annual variant of your tier.
Stripe prorates the change. Next renewal is annual. Cancel any time.

Edit your homepage copy

Change hero text, add an about section, drop in a photo. Changes appear on a draft URL first.

The form is split into Branding, Hero, About, Contact, and Live widgets. Edit any field.
Sticky preview iframe on the right re-renders as you save. Use ?preview=1 on the public URL to see the latest draft.
For longer copy (about section), the markdown editor has a toolbar — bold, italic, links, headings, lists.
Click Publish when you're happy. The live URL updates within seconds. The first publish also emails you a launch guide.

Website builder

Add photos to a sub-page

Hero photo, three section photos, a gallery — same workflow for each.

Open the sub-page tab (Course / Clubhouse / Membership / Events / Contact).
Click any photo slot → drag-and-drop OR file picker. Max 10 MB; JPG / PNG / WebP / GIF supported.
Fairway resizes + compresses on upload (max 2400px wide, JPEG quality 82, EXIF stripped). The original is never stored.
For galleries, drop multiple photos at once. Reorder by drag. Captions + alt text are optional but improve accessibility.

Website builder

Connect a custom domain

Move from your-club.fairwaybygrantive.com to www.your-club.co.uk.

15 min + DNS wait · 5 steps

Admin → Website → scroll to Custom domain on the Home tab.
Type the full hostname you want (usually www.yourclub.co.uk). Save.
Add a CNAME at your registrar pointing your hostname at clubs.fairwaybygrantive.com. Most registrars accept this within 5 minutes; DNS propagation can take up to 24 hours.
Back in admin, click Verify now. Status flips to "Verified" once we can reach your hostname.
Cloudflare for SaaS provisions an SSL certificate automatically (5-30 min after DNS resolves). Your site now serves on your custom domain over HTTPS.
